WordPress export creates an XML file containing all your posts, pages, comments, categories, and tags. WordPress import reads that file and recreates the content on another WordPress site. Together, they make content migration straightforward — no database access needed, no technical knowledge required.

The Export/Import Process
Export: Tools > Export. Choose what to export: all content, or specific post types — posts, pages, media. Download the XML file. Import: On the destination site: Tools > Import. Install the WordPress importer if prompted. Upload the XML file. Choose to import media files (images). Assign imported content to an existing user or create a new one. Wait for the import to complete — this can take minutes to hours depending on content volume and image count. After import: Check that all content arrived. Reassign categories and tags if needed. Update internal links — they may still point to the old domain. Use Better Search Replace to update URLs.
