Widgets Add Features to Your Sidebar, Footer, and Other Areas Without Writing Code. Here Is How to Use Them.
WordPress widgets are small blocks of content and functionality you can add to designated widget areas — typically sidebars and footers. They handle everything from displaying recent posts and search bars to embedding custom HTML and social media feeds. Widgets give you control over your site’s layout without touching code.
“Widgets are the building blocks of your site’s secondary content areas. Arrange them, add them, remove them — all without writing a line of code.”
Using Widgets
Access widgets: Appearance > Widgets, or Customiser > Widgets. You will see available widget areas on the left and available widgets on the right. Add a widget: Drag a widget from the right to a widget area on the left. Configure its settings. Save. Common widgets: Search bar, recent posts, categories, tag cloud, custom HTML (for embedding maps, forms, or any custom code), text widget, image widget, navigation menu, calendar. Gulf-specific widgets: WhatsApp button widget, Arabic date widget, prayer times widget, currency converter widget for e-commerce. Widget visibility: Some themes and plugins let you control which pages each widget appears on — show a contact widget only on service pages, or a promotion widget only on the homepage. For professional widget configuration, see our WordPress Services page.
“Widgets give you control without complexity. Drag, drop, configure, save. Your site’s layout evolves as easily as your business does.”
