WooCommerce shipping zones define where you ship, how much it costs, and which methods are available. A poorly configured shipping setup charges customers the wrong rates, offers methods that do not work for their location, or tells customers you do not ship to their country when you actually do. For Gulf stores, the zone configuration is especially important because the region spans multiple countries with different carriers and rates.

Gulf Shipping Zone Setup
Zone 1: Local city. Dubai, Riyadh, Doha — wherever your warehouse or office is based. Lowest rates, fastest delivery. Zone 2: Same country, other cities. Rest of UAE, rest of Saudi Arabia, rest of Qatar. Higher rates, slightly longer delivery. Zone 3: Other Gulf countries. UAE to Saudi Arabia, Saudi to Kuwait, etc. Highest rates, longest delivery times. Gulf carriers to integrate: Aramex, SMSA, Naqel, Fetchr, J&T Express, Emirates Post, Saudi Post. Each carrier has a WooCommerce plugin or API integration. Configure rates for each zone: flat rate per order, rate based on weight, rate based on order value, or free shipping above a threshold. Add cash on delivery as a payment option — still widely used across the Gulf.
